Background
Sergio Pérez — Not a member of Hot Wheels' design team. Sergio 'Checo' Pérez is a Mexican Formula 1 driver: he debuted with Sauber in 2011, raced for McLaren and Force India and for Red Bull Racing from 2021 to 2024, and now competes for the Cadillac team. The Hot Wheels Wiki lists him among the brand's guests and associates with him the car 'Speedy Pérez' (Legends of Speed series, 2017), in collaboration with designer Tyler Charest.
Tyler Charest — Tyler J. Charest has worked at Mattel since 2015, after three months as an 'innovation design intern' in 2014. He was a Hot Wheels designer from 2015 to 2020, with projects in mainline, Character Cars and RC. Before Mattel, he developed concepts for Toyota Boshoku America and worked as an industrial designer. Today he is associate manager of the Matchbox design team.
