Background
Lee Johnstone — Not a member of Hot Wheels' design team. Lee Johnstone is a British hot rod builder and amateur drag racer; he won the 2021 Hot Wheels Legends Tour with the Ain't No Saint, a customized 1969 Volvo P1800, with a supercharged 454 Chevrolet big-block engine and a 'gasser' look. He was the first Legends Tour winner from outside the United States. The Hot Wheels Wiki associates with him the Volvo P1800 Gasser (HW Dream Garage series, 2023), made in collaboration with designer Manson Cheung.
Manson Cheung — Manson Cheung is a Hot Wheels designer and sculptor; the MC5 wheels bear his name. He created castings in 1/18, 1/43, 1/50 and 1/64 scales and made sculpts for other popular models. Projects associated with him include the Back to the Future DeLorean, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, the Mystery Machine, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and the Rimac Nevera; in 2025 he worked on a premium Formula 1 collection with eight cars.
