Julian Payne, Tyler Charest
Background
Julian Payne — Julian Richard Payne has worked at Mattel since 1998 and is a lead designer for Hot Wheels and Matchbox, focusing on playsets (especially the Color Shifters line) and some vehicle design work. Early in his career, he was part of the Matchbox design team.
Tyler Charest — Tyler J. Charest has worked at Mattel since 2015, after three months as an 'innovation design intern' in 2014. He was a Hot Wheels designer from 2015 to 2020, with projects in mainline, Character Cars and RC. Before Mattel, he developed concepts for Toyota Boshoku America and worked as an industrial designer. Today he is associate manager of the Matchbox design team.
