Background
Brendon Vetuskey — Brendon Vetuskey has worked at Mattel since 2007 and is a Staff Designer at Hot Wheels. Before Mattel, he was at Jakks Pacific; his involvement with Hot Wheels goes back to 1998, when he designed, for the company Kiddesigns, the Scream Machines (keychains with lights and sounds that replicated cars from the brand). He holds a BFA in Industrial and Product Design from the Cleveland Institute of Art.
He started in the Track and Playsets department, where he helped develop the Trick Tracks line and the Super Six Lane Raceway, was lead Monster Jam designer for a few years and managed the Entertainment team. He only moved to the car design department in 2016. Today he is lead designer for Red Line Club vehicles and co-lead for the mainline, alongside Fraser Campbell. Some of his personal cars inspired models from the brand, such as the Custom '67 Pontiac Firebird. According to an interview with the site CNCKing, he helped develop more than 25 1:64 models for collectors.
Manson Cheung — Manson Cheung is a Hot Wheels designer and sculptor; the MC5 wheels bear his name. He created castings in 1/18, 1/43, 1/50 and 1/64 scales and made sculpts for other popular models. Projects associated with him include the Back to the Future DeLorean, the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, the Mystery Machine, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and the Rimac Nevera; in 2025 he worked on a premium Formula 1 collection with eight cars. The sources consulted do not state his education or year of entry.
Riley Stair — Not a member of Hot Wheels' design team. Riley Stair is an American custom car builder and won the 2020 Hot Wheels Legends Tour with a customized 1970 Pontiac Trans Am, actually a 1970 Firebird with its own body, 1,000 hp and a tube chassis. The Hot Wheels Wiki associates with him the '1970 Pontiac Firebird' (HW Dream Garage series, 2022), made in collaboration with designers Brendon Vetuskey and Manson Cheung.
