Alec Tam, Brian Hillner
Background
Alec Tam — Alec Paul Tam is a Chinese-American designer and former Hot Wheels designer. He joined Mattel in 2000 as a project designer for the brand and was the only second-generation Hot Wheels designer, following in the footsteps of his father, Paul Tam. He rose to Director of Vehicle Design (from 2007), in charge of the mainline, and later to Senior Director of Product Design at Wheels Brands (2012–2013). He redesigned the Whip Creamer, a car created by his father.
He later moved to Mattel's Boys Entertainment and Girls areas. He then worked as a design consultant for companies such as Moose Toys and YULU Toys and, according to the wiki, is now Director of Global Product Development at MerchSource.
Brian Hillner — Brian Hillner was an intern in Mattel's Hot Wheels department in 2007 and then moved to Matchbox, where he designed cars until 2009. He currently works at Dassault Systèmes, according to the Hot Wheels Wiki.
